>The Singing Inside

>Say what? THIS is not a napkin!

I know, but it is my latest creation and I thought you might like to see it.

Here is the story.

I was asked to participate in a breast cancer charity auction. ‘Breast Impressions’ of Tulsa created body casts of various celebrities in the Tulsa area. Artist’s around town then ‘adopted’ a cast. I created this one.

It is titled ‘The Singing Inside’ and consists of the painted cast set inside a frame made from the wood of an old piano. It is a lamp as well, with a rope light wound around the two supports holding the cast in place.

It will be on display at the Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa, Oklahoma from September 18th until the auction in late October. If you are in the area come by and check it out. And of course come to the auction and bid on it or any of the other ones you might happen to like.

>Success Generally Depends Upon Knowing

>I hope you are enjoying this selection of original napkins from 1998-2004
while I am on vacation. Comment when you are so inclined. I would love
to hear any of your thoughts in these ideas.

The snake and the turtle have been buddies in my work since at least
the mid-1980s. They are often telling two opposite sides of the story
sometimes the snake being the antagonist, but often being the sweet
singing snake with no evil attached. The Turtle is more often a positive
figure, sometimes telling a needed truth, other times just saying something
wise or witty.

That’s all, just remember to sing. It makes the rowing easier. However, if you sing any Barry Manilow sharks will come around your boat and eat you.
